Mapping Our Way as Educators: Leaders In and Out of the Classroom

Friday and Saturday, October 4 - 5, 2013

All events and sessions are taking place in the Tomezsko Classroom Building (Campus Map)

This year's presentation tracks are:

  • Classroom Practices – We seek examples of best practices integrated in the classroom to enhance instruction and student learning. Sessions may include and are not limited to the use of data-rich inquiry exercises, lessons applying claim-evidence-reasoning, and lessons that connect across disciplines.
  • Professional Practices – We seek presentations that share approaches and areas of teacher professional development, such as finding venues for presenting and publishing curricular innovations, and overall strategies for self-promotion.
  • Mapping Our World – We seek presentations that specifically highlight our conference theme - pedagogical approaches and science instruction with map resources, mapping tools, and geographic visuals, Sessions may include and are not limited to the use of topographic maps, GPS, Google Maps/Google Earth, digital photography, and other sources of imagery.
