2015 Green Apple Day of Service (GADOS)

Green Apple Day of Service 2015

Announcement from 2015 Green Apple Day of Service  --  I’m reaching out to you on behalf of the Delaware Valley Green Building Council (DVGBC) in regards to 2015 Green Apple Day of Service (GADOS). If you’re not familiar with GADOS, it’s a worldwide day of service taking place on or around Saturday, September 26th that aims to engage students, teachers, companies, and communities in order to transform schools into healthy, safe and productive environments. Last year, we had over 130 GADOS projects completed in our region. Some of the projects included: streamside clean ups, schoolyard planting days, garden maintenance, green building tours, and more! Please reference the attached GADOS flyer for more information and feel free to share the flyer as you see fit.

Green Apple Day of Service is a great way to bring together a diverse group of stakeholders around a worthwhile cause of healthier schools and communities. A schoolyard clean-up, recycling campaign, or any other GADOS project can help build momentum around green efforts in your school and I encourage you to plan, register, or participate in a GADOS project this fall. Mygreenapple.org is the go-to source for project ideas, planning resources, and project registration, but feel free to reach out to me, or my colleague Lizzy Friesen with any questions, or if would like more information about GADOS.

I hope that you will help us spread the word about this great initiative and feel inspired to take action this fall to green your school!
