GEODE Workshop at PSU
July 15-19, 2018
Penn State, University Park
Geological models for Explorations Of Dynamic Earth
This workshop will focus on supporting middle and high school students developing understandings of plate tectonics and geodynamics at a systems level. We will be using online tools, including data visualization and simulations, as well as curriculum that teachers will have access to for use in their classrooms for the 2018-2019 academic year. The workshop will focus on helping teachers develop appropriate geoscience content knowledge, teaching practices, and supports for integrating online curricular materials into their teaching.
The workshop will be held at the Penn State University Park Campus and includes support for travel and lodging for teachers traveling from outside of 30 miles from State College, as well as a stipend for teachers who complete the project and participate with the program during the 2018-19 academic year.
