NSTA position statement on NGSS
From David Bauman, Science Education Adviser for the Pennsylvania Department of Education -- This morning NSTA released their position statement on Next Generation Science Standards. The position statement makes a series of recommendations for science education stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and transform K–12 STEM education. The statement expresses NSTA’s strong endorsement for the NGSS and calls on states to adopt the new standards. It also outlines the steps needed to ensure that all students have the skills and knowledge required for college and STEM careers and to be well-informed citizens. The link to the position statement is below: http://www.nsta.org/about/positions/ngss.aspx This is an important tool for teachers/administrators and I encourage you to circulate this position statement among your colleagues. Please let me know if you have any questions or need additional information.
