Mark your calendars for August 2017 "All-American" Eclipse of the Sun

On August 21, 2017, there will be a total eclipse of the Sun visible from the U.S. (and only the US!)  The path of what is being called the “All American” total eclipse is only about 60 miles wide and goes from a beach in Oregon to a beach in South Carolina, crossing the country diagonally. The partial eclipse, on the other hand, will be visible to 500 million people in all parts of the US and North America.

From AGI, 01/14/2016  --  The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) is pleased to announce that the theme of Earth Science Week 2016 is "Our Shared Geoheritage." This year's event will promote awareness of the many ways that science helps us understand, appreciate, and make the most of our geoscience heritage, or, as it is commonly known worldwide, "geoheritage."

Boat Rides, LEGO Boats to Highlight Pennsylvania Coast Day 2015

From Partnership for the Delaware Estuary, 08/27/2015  --  Over 550 people will enjoy a free boat ride at Pennsylvania Coast Day on Sept. 12, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Penn’s Landing.

The Partnership for the Delaware Estuary will give away over 350 tickets for the RiverLink Ferry and 150 tickets for the Patriot. Both tours will be narrated. It is also offering free kayaking and pedal boating in Penn’s Landing Marina. Those who take advantage of both could save up to $40.

Announcement from 2015 Green Apple Day of Service  --  I’m reaching out to you on behalf of the Delaware Valley Green Building Council (DVGBC) in regards to 2015 Green Apple Day of Service (GADOS). If you’re not familiar with GADOS, it’s a worldwide day of service taking place on or around Saturday, September 26th that aims to engage students, teachers, companies, and communities in order to transform schools into healthy, safe and productive environments.
