Opportunity: Become a Fellow in the New Science Teacher Academy (July 1 deadline)

Second and third year secondary science teachers are eligible to apply to become a Fellow in the New Science Teacher Academy, an NSTA program that supports new teachers. Participants are offered professional development that blends consistent online learning activities with face-to-face experiences. The Academy provides each teacher with a year-long, discipline-specific mentor, web-based content development courses and other rich resources, membership in the NSTA, and an opportunity to attend the National Conference on Science Education.

The Pennsylvania Department of Education and The Educational Testing Service (ETS) are developing a new Praxis Series TM licensure assessment for entry-level Pennsylvania Grade 4-8 teachers. A licensure assessment is intended to provide information regarding the knowledge and skills that are important for entry-level teachers to engage in independent practice.
