AGI Accepting Applications for 2012 Award for Excellence in Earth Science Teaching

Alexandria, VA - Does someone you know teach earth science to students between kindergarten and eighth grade? Do they excel in their teaching through leadership and innovation, bringing new ideas and approaches to teaching about our planet? If so, they may be eligible for the Edward C. Roy Award for Excellence in K-8 Earth Science Teaching.

PAESTA Reception at PSTA

On Thursday afternoon, December 1, PAESTA will be giving presentations and hosting a reception at the Pennsylvania Science Teachers Association Conference in Hershey, PA!

1:00PM The Myth(?) of the Super Moon

In this session we will investigate the Moon’s appearance in Earth’s sky using a kinesthetic demo and a software simulation. We will compare the results of these investigations with claims from March 2011 about the appearance of the “Super Moon”.
