AGI Accepting Applications for 2012 Award for Excellence in Earth Science Teaching
Alexandria, VA - Does someone you know teach earth science to students between kindergarten and eighth grade? Do they excel in their teaching through leadership and innovation, bringing new ideas and approaches to teaching about our planet? If so, they may be eligible for the Edward C. Roy Award for Excellence in K-8 Earth Science Teaching.
On Thursday afternoon, December 1, PAESTA will be giving presentations and hosting a reception at the Pennsylvania Science Teachers Association Conference in Hershey, PA!
In this session we will investigate the Moon’s appearance in Earth’s sky using a kinesthetic demo and a software simulation. We will compare the results of these investigations with claims from March 2011 about the appearance of the “Super Moon”.
The National Earth Science Teachers Association has developed an anonymous survey to gather information about climate change education underway in the K-12 classroom today.
A series of free Climate Change Seminars is being offered by The Bard Center for Environmental Policy featuring environmental experts.
Listen in real time to climate and clean energy specialists talk about the latest science, policy, law, and economics of climate change. Assign these half-hour calls to your students for a chance to hear top scientists, analysts and political leaders discuss climate and clean energy solutions.
