PAESTA 2013 Annual Conference

Session proposals are being accepted for 30-minute or 60-minute oral presentations during the Choice Session on Saturday, October 5.  Speakers are asked to contribute abstracts for consideration to one of the three different presentation tracks:

  • Classroom Practices – We seek examples of how technology has been integrated in the classroom to enhance instruction and student learning. Sessions may include and are not limited to the use of data-rich inquiry exercises, lessons applying claim-evidence-reasoning, and lessons that connect across disciplines.
  • Professional Practices – We seek presentations that share approaches and areas of teacher professional development, such as finding venues for presenting and publishing curricular innovations, and overall strategies for self-promotion.
  • Mapping Our World – We seek presentations that specifically highlight our conference theme - pedagogical approaches and science instruction with map resources, mapping tools, and geographic visuals, Sessions may include and are not limited to the use of topographic maps, GPS, Google Maps/Google Earth, digital photography, and other sources of imagery.

Presentations CANNOT include the use of an open flame, animals, microorganisms, biohazards, projectiles, or radioactive substances.  Sinks and water are not available in any of the presentation rooms.

All presenters must be members of PAESTA (Membership Form).

The deadline for submissions is August 31, 2013.
