AGENDA

Morning Session (at IUP Kovalchick Center)

  • 8:30-9:00 - registration and check-in 9:00-11:00 - build a telescope workshop (Dr. Ken Coles)
  • 11:00-11:30 - new online resources for earth science teaching (Dr. Karen Rose Cercone)

Afternoon Session (weather permitting)

  • 11:30-12:00 - travel with boxed lunches to Tanoma and eat onsite
  • 12:00-1:00 - Maury Project Teacher Module:  Measuring Sea Level from Space (Dave Curry, teacher and PAESTA Past President)
  • 1:00-3:00 - stream education workshop (Dr. Holly Travis and Dr. Katie Farnsworth)

Afternoon Session (rain-out option)

  • 11:30-12:00 - travel with bagged lunches to IUP and eat in planetarium lobby
  • 12:00- 1:00 - Maury Project Teacher Module:  Measuring Sea Level from Space (Dave Curry, teacher and PAESTA Past President)
  • 1:00 - 2:00 - planetarium show (Dr. Ken Coles)
  • 2:00 - 3:00 - hands-on demos of stream table experiments and augmented reality sandbox (Dr. Katie Farnsworth and Dr. Karen Rose Cercone)
